The Recipients of the 2016 Quip Engineering Diversity Scholarship

By Sophia Westwood

Congratulations to the winners and runners-up of the Quip Engineering Diversity Scholarship!

Over the past few weeks, our team at Quip has spent hours reading and discussing the many fantastic applications we received. It was inspiring and humbling to see the accomplishments, passion, and potential of so many students — and it was incredibly challenging to narrow it down to just ten. Thank you to everyone who applied for sharing with us. We wish each one of you the best of luck along your future paths!

We are so happy to recognize the following students as scholarship winners and runners-up. As a group, we were blown away by their work promoting diversity, the obstacles they have overcome, their thoughtfulness in their responses, and their achievements. More than anything, we are so excited by their potential to contribute and make technology a better place.

Each winner will receive $5000 towards their education, and each runner-up will receive $1000. We will also fly all recipients out to Quip's office in San Francisco this summer for a day of learning, mentorship, and meeting the team — we can't wait!
