• Share Your Company’s Custom Templates at Scale (Template Library): Publish your company-wide templates to the Template Library’s company galleries from the Quip Admin Console. Company galleries make it easier to streamline and share your processes across your business.

• Advanced Salesforce Search Filters: We added new advanced search filters to Quip search so that users can easily search for documents that contain Salesforce data or are associated with a record in Salesforce. Filter documents by object type (Accounts, Opportunities, etc.) or a specific record (Acme Inc, Ohana Opportunity, etc.). For Web and Desktop.

What's New

• A New Home for Accessibility Settings: We have organized all our accessibility settings into one place. Increased Contrast, OpenDyslexic Font, and the our new screen reader support features can now be found in Account Settings → Accessibility. For Web and Desktop.

• Improved Screen Reader Support (beta): If you use NVDA/Chrome or VoiceOver/Safari, we are introducing some significant improvements to how Quip works with screen readers. Learn more at https://quip.com/accessibility, and opt-in to the beta release by toggling Account Settings → Accessibility → Use Beta Screen Reader Features, or using the keyboard shortcut Command Option Z (Mac) or Control Alt Z (Windows). • Declutter Unedited Documents: "Untitled" documents with empty content will no longer clutter your Quip folder. Now, when you create a document or spreadsheet without edits and navigate away from the document, Quip will move that "Untitled" document to your Trash. For Web and Desktop.

• Updates to Quip’s Slack App: We’ve made some changes to Quip’s Slack app to make it easier to do the most important things you do. Create documents and spreadsheets via the Shortcuts menu. Navigate to your recent documents from the new Quip app Home tab. Search through your list of channels (including your private ones, too) when connecting a Quip document to Slack. Additionally, we’ve streamlined our slash commands, removing welcome, notepad, copy, grab, alias, task, and checklist. Type /quip help to learn more about what our Slack app can do.

• Live App Menus on Mobile: Do more with your live apps while on-the-go. Select live app menu items are now supported on the Quip mobile app. For the Salesforce Record and Salesforce List, refresh your data, edit field values, and sync those edits to Salesforce, all from mobile. • URL Display Options: New feature rolling out over the next week or so: When you paste a link into a Quip doc, you can now format it as a human-readable title rather than a jumbly ol’ URL. Just click the link and choose “Page Title” from the dropdown menu that appears.

• Page Break Optimizations: We’ve made some tweaks to how Quip calculates page lengths, and now the page breaks we show (when you turn on Show Page Breaks in the Format menu) are a bit more accurate than before.

What's New

• Making Resizing Rows and Columns Pixel Perfect: Resize your spreadsheet rows and columns to automatically fit the data they contain (or to assign a them specific pixel value). Just right-click on a spreadsheet header or cell and select “Resize” from the menu. For Web and Desktop.

• Mentions in Spreadsheets on iOS: It used to be that Quip’s iOS app didn’t let you mention users, documents, or anything else mentionable if you were typing into a spreadsheet cell. Rude! We’ve fixed that.

What's New

• More visibility into documents linked to Salesforce Records:Salesforce record relationships are now visible in Quip navigation. In the “All Files” tab, icons are now displayed next to documents that are linked to Salesforce Records. We hope that this feature makes it easier for users to find the documents related to their most important records whether in Quip or Salesforce. For Web.

• Template support for Data Mentions: In your templates, replace your mail merge syntax of record fields with Data Mentions. Data Mentions offer a more user-friendly way to define what object and field you want to templatize and when a document is created from that template, your Salesforce record data will always be in sync with Salesforce! To do so, mark a document as a template, enter @Salesforce Data Mention Template, and select object type and field. For Web.

• Formula support for Data Mentions when MSP is enabled: If your Quip site has Mirror Salesforce Permissions “enabled”, we now support formulas for cells that contain a Data Mention. Let’s say you mention the “Amount Value” field of several opportunities. You can use a formula, like SUM, to calculate the total amount value. For Web.

• Value of Data Mention shows up in document title and export Previously, if you had a Data Mention in the title of your doc or in a spreadsheet cell, it showed up as static “Data Mention” text. We fixed that. Now you will see the actual value of the Data Mention. For Web .

What's New

• Automate Exporting a Quip Document to PDF: Take record-keeping snapshots of your important documents by generating a PDF and attaching to another Quip document with the Quip Automation API. Note that currently the endpoint only works with documents and not full spreadsheets. For Web and Desktop.

• Synchronize Folders to Groups: Synchronize Quip Folders to user groups connected to directory services like Active Directory, Okta, or through the Quip SCIM API. As the user group membership changes, the folder members will update accordingly. For Web and Desktop.

• Expanded Reporting for External Sharing: We’ve expanded the admin console reporting on external sharing to include all externally-shared documents (not just outbound documents). You can also see what companies your users are sharing with, zoom in on the collaboration with a specific company, and export .csv reports about your company’s external sharing with a specific partner. For Web and Desktop.

• New Controls for External Sharing: There are new ways to control your external sharing within the admin console. You can remove your company’s members from externally-owned documents and remove external users from documents you own. You can also stop all existing sharing with a specific company, either removing all that company’s users from all of your documents, removing all your company members from that company’s documents, or both. • Dark Mode and Increased Contrast support: Quip for iOS can now be used in dark mode. By default, the app follows your device settings, but you can customize the display in the “Appearance” section of your account settings. For Web, Desktop and iOS.

What's New

• Retiring Slides: As of now, Quip Slides are going “view-only.” You can still open and copy content out of your existing slide decks, but you won’t be able to create new slides. Note that Salesforce Process/Flow builder Slide actions have also been retired. Slide API endpoints will be retired in June.

Bug Fixes

• More Reliable Folder Copying: Copying entire folders used to fail more often than was ideal. Now it’s considerably more reliable, and there’s an indicator to let you know it’s actually happening.

• Data Validation 2.0: Data Validation has become more robust with nine new validation rules, in addition to other functional and visual improvements. You can now set cells to only accept attachments, people, dates, numbers, text, URLs, emails, and checkboxes. You can also now set the dropdown options to be from an existing cell range of your choice. For Web and Desktop

• Line Numbers: We've added the ability to see the line numbers in your Quip documents. Among other things, they're very handy for meetings, when you need to point people to specific parts of a document. Note that they'll only appear for your view and not for all members of the document. Toggle line numbers on and off from the View menu. For Web and Desktop

• Text Wrap in Spreadsheets Toolbar: Access text wrapping options right from the spreadsheets toolbar with the new Text Wrap button. For Web and Desktop

• Updated Spreadsheets Text Alignment Icon: We've updated the text alignment icon for spreadsheets to match the one we use for documents. For Web and Desktop

• Dark Mode and Increased Contrast: Give your eyes a rest—Quip can now be used in dark mode on desktop or the web! We have also added the ability to increase contrast throughout the Quip interface in either light or dark modes to make colors bolder, which may be especially helpful for low vision users. • Read and Respond to Comments Using a Screenreader: Screenreader users can now read and respond to comment threads when reading a Quip document in View-Only Mode (cmd+opt+z on Mac or ctrl+alt+z in Windows). Too many comments interrupting your reading experience? Turn them off just for yourself by going to View → Show Comments for each document. As a reminder, keyboard users can still access comments on any section in a document outside of View-Only Mode by using the keyboard shortcuts cmd+shift+c or ctrl+shift+c. For Web

• Define Sections of a Template with Document Ranges: Add headings to your templates to create document ranges and see how your templates are structured. Now you can easily use your template’s sections to create business processes and automation based on your range names with the Automation API. Updated endpoints include Edit Document and Live Paste. • Offline Access Changes: We’ve changed which documents are available offline in the mobile and desktop apps. Now, all documents in your Favorites, documents you’ve opened in the last week, and documents mentioned in your notifications in the last week will automatically be available offline.
